Initial launch of By The Cover™ targets New York, Connecticut, New Jersey.
Bay Shore, N.Y.—April 12, 2018—Brownyard Group, a program administrator providing specialized insurance coverage for select industries, today launched By The Cover™, a new insurance program for non-profit libraries. The program will be written through an A.M. Best Company “A+” rated carrier on an admitted basis.

By The Cover is a multi-line package program offering commercial property, general liability, auto, inland marine, crime and fidelity coverages. Among the coverage highlights offered to non-profit libraries are:
- Medical payments for athletic participants
- Good Samaritan coverage for medical emergencies
- Abuse or molestation coverage
- Wage & Hour coverage
- Flood or backup of sewers and drains ($25,000)
The program also offers two optional policies to supplement the package: an umbrella policy and a combined directors & officers and employment practices liability policy.
Brownyard developed By The Cover in conjunction with the Regan Agency of Babylon, N.Y., which has 35 years of experience and expertise in insuring libraries.
The program is initially available in three states:
- In Connecticut and New Jersey through all agents and brokers
- In New York exclusively through the Regan Agency.
The program will roll out nationwide over the next year.
