How do we apply for coverage?

Please ask your agent or broker to submit the completed required information as soon as you can.  We can usually have a quote for you within a few days.

What information is required for a quote?
  • For general liability, commercial excess and workers’ compensation: completed, signed BrownGuard application
  • For auto and third party dishonesty: completed, signed Brownyard application
  • For auto, property, inland marine and workers’ compensation: completed, signed ACORD applications
  • Five-year loss run information
  • Detailed resume (for clients with under three years experience in the industry)
  • We will require the original, signed application to bind coverage
Does my broker need to be appointed by Brownyard Group to write my policy?
There is no need for agents and brokers to be appointed by Brownyard Group to write coverage through our program. We simply require them to submit the following documents to info@brownyard.com:
  • W-9 Form
  • Agency/broker License
  • Proof of errors & omissions (E&O) Insurance – certificate or dec page
  • Proof of fidelity (crime) insurance – certificate or dec page
In what states is the coverage available?
Brownguard® security guard insurance is available in all states except Nebraska.
What limits can you write?

We can provide limits as high as $11,000,000.

Are there minimum premiums?

Yes. Our policies are subject to minimum premiums as follows:

  • $300,000 limit: $2,500 minimum premium
  • $500,000 limit: $3,000 minimum premium
  • $1,000,000 limit: $3,500 minimum premium
Can I get my business auto coverage at Brownyard?

Yes, Business Auto is available in all states except FL, MA, NE & WA. Call our office for details.

Does Brownyard write property & inland marine coverage?

Is workers' compensation coverage available?

Yes. It is available in all states (except AK, HI and the monopolistic states of ND, OH,  WA & WY).

What are your carrier’s ratings?

We only write our program through the best carriers that have ratings of A+ (“Superior”).

Is your program admitted?

Our Brownguard insurance for security guards program is admitted in all states except LA, TX & WA.

Are your rates competitive?

The coverages we offer are not only very broad, but very reasonably priced.

Can I get a lower premium if I go directly to Brownyard without a broker and their commission?

No, we value the relationship between you and your insurance representative and encourage you to stay with a local broker for the best possible service.
